![]() I have owned one or more Bernese Mountain Dogs for many years now. I do not breed them, but I have owned them, shown them, trained them, and Enjoyed them greatly! It was a terrific blow when my grand old man, Gambler, died last December and I have been grieving over him for the last seven months. While he was alive, I would freely say: 'As soon as he is gone, I'll get another. I don't want to be without one!' Well, when he died, it knocked the pins out from under me and I couldn't even talk about him without tearing up - so I backed off about getting another one. There were several times I would hear about one being turned in at this shelter or being available at this site - and sometimes I'd go look. But it was never 'right' - for one or another reason. Until last week when an email came up noting two boys up in Ohio that needed new homes. When I saw this boy's picture, something snapped inside me, and it was TIME. As of today, Bear is still in Ohio - recovering from a bit of a respiratory something - but we are hopeful he will be here with us in New Castle within the next week or so! Ch Laurel Hill's Kastle Gambler CD CGC TT was a grand old man who is Very missed around here. Bear is a young Berner currently in Rescue who we are very much looking forward to having come here! |
